The terms of using this tool.

1. Agreement

By opening the screener, the study board, or by publishing a listing, you agree to these terms. If you do not agree, do not use the site. We may change these terms; the version and date at the top tell you which one is current, and continuing to use the site after a change means you accept the new version.

You must be 18 or older to agree to these terms. A parent or legal guardian may use the site on behalf of a child, and does so under their own agreement to these terms and their own responsibility.

2. What the tool actually does

It retrieves study records from the public ClinicalTrials.gov API, compares what you typed against the structured fields in those records, applies deterministic rules to some of the eligibility text, and shows you everything it could not decide, unchanged. That is the whole of it.

"Not ruled out" is not eligibility. It means only that nothing the tool was able to decide has excluded you yet. Sites screen against a full protocol containing criteria the registry never publishes. Every result is a shortlist for a conversation, nothing more.

3. Accuracy, and its limits

Published accuracy figures for this tool come from 46 criteria labelled by a single rater who is also its author. That is a regression harness, not a clinical validation, and no clinical validation has been performed. The figures may not hold on criteria unlike those 46.

Registry records are written and maintained by sponsors. They are frequently incomplete, out of date, or wrong at the source, and we neither audit nor correct them. A study shown as recruiting may have closed. Contact information may be stale. We do not warrant that anything displayed is accurate, current or complete.

The tool will sometimes read a criterion wrongly. It shows the exact characters behind each decision so that a wrong reading is visible to you rather than hidden, but it remains your responsibility to check it.

4. No medical advice, and no reliance

Nothing on this site is medical advice, and it is not a substitute for a qualified professional who knows your history. Do not start, stop, delay or change any treatment, and do not decide against pursuing a study, on the basis of anything shown here. Always consult a licensed clinician. If someone needs urgent care, contact emergency services; this site is not a route to medical help of any kind.

5. The study board, and listings published by others

Listings on the study board are written and submitted by third parties. We do not verify them. We do not confirm that a listed study exists, that it is approved by any ethics committee or institutional review board, that it is actually recruiting, that the person who posted it is who they claim to be, or that anything stated in a listing is true.

We are not a party to any communication or arrangement between you and a person who posted a listing. We do not screen, endorse, recommend or rank the studies listed, and we receive no payment for placement. Anything that happens after you contact a listed researcher is between you and them.

Treat listings with the caution you would apply to any unverified notice. Confirm the study on ClinicalTrials.gov, confirm the institution independently, and never send money, identification documents, insurance details or clinical records to anyone who contacts you because of a listing. We will never ask you for payment to take part in a study.

We may remove any listing at any time, for any reason or none, without notice.

6. If you contact a study team

We do not collect your details and we do not pass anything to anyone. A listing displays the contact address the researcher published, and you write to them yourself, from your own email. There is nowhere on this site to enter information about your health, and we never see or hold any correspondence between you and a study team.

Everything that follows is between you and them, outside our control and outside these terms. We make no representation about who they are, how they handle what you send, or whether they comply with any law. Confirm the study and the institution independently before you write. A genuine study will not ask you for money, payment details or identity documents by email.

7. If you publish a listing

You represent and warrant that you are authorised to publish it, that the study is real and has whatever approvals apply to it, that everything you state is accurate, and that you will keep it accurate or ask us to remove it. You are solely responsible for the content of your listing.

Your listing must include a valid ClinicalTrials.gov identifier, which we check against the public registry before publishing. Publishing a listing for a study that does not exist, or that you are not authorised to represent, is a breach of these terms and may be unlawful.

People contact you directly, at the address you published. We are not an intermediary and hold nothing about them. You are solely responsible for anything they send you and for handling it lawfully, including under HIPAA, GDPR, UK GDPR and any other law that applies to you. You agree to indemnify us against any claim arising from your listing or from your handling of what you receive because of it.

The link that opens your dashboard is its only credential. It shows counts of views and contact reveals, and nothing about any individual. Keeping it secret is your responsibility, and we cannot recover or reset it.

8. No warranty

The site is provided as is and as available, without warranty of any kind, express, implied or statutory. To the fullest extent permitted by law we disclaim all implied warranties, including merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, accuracy, title and non infringement.

We do not warrant that the site will be available, uninterrupted, timely, secure or error free, that defects will be corrected, or that any result obtained from it is accurate or reliable. Some jurisdictions do not allow the exclusion of certain warranties, so parts of this section may not apply to you.

9. Limitation of liability

To the fullest extent permitted by law, in no event will Inclusion Health, its authors, contributors or operators be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, exemplary or punitive damages, or for any loss of profits, revenue, data, goodwill, opportunity or anticipated savings, arising out of or connected with your use of or inability to use the site, however caused and on any theory of liability, even if advised of the possibility.

Without limiting the above, we are not liable for: any decision made or not made, or delayed, on the basis of anything the site displayed; any study you did not find, were not shown, or were wrongly shown; any error in a registry record; anything contained in a listing published by someone else; anything done by a person you contacted through a listing; or any outcome, medical or otherwise, connected with a clinical trial.

Our total aggregate liability for all claims relating to the site will not exceed the greater of the amount you paid us in the twelve months before the claim arose, or fifty US dollars. Screening is free, so for most users that amount is fifty US dollars.

Some jurisdictions do not allow certain limitations of liability, so parts of this section may not apply to you. Nothing here excludes liability that cannot lawfully be excluded, including for death or personal injury caused by negligence, or for fraud.

10. Indemnity

You agree to indemnify and hold harmless Inclusion Health, its authors, contributors and operators from any claim, demand, loss, liability or expense, including reasonable legal fees, arising from your use of the site, from any content you submit or publish, from your breach of these terms, or from your violation of any law or of anyone else's rights.

11. Acceptable use

Do not present the tool's output to a patient as a determination of eligibility. Do not publish a listing for a study that does not exist, that you are not authorised to represent, or that is designed to collect personal information under false pretences. Do not use the site to solicit, harvest contact details, advertise a product, or contact people for anything other than the study they responded to.

Do not attempt to access a dashboard that is not yours, probe or interfere with the service, or query the registry in bulk through this page. The ClinicalTrials.gov API is public and their own terms apply to using it directly.

12. Availability and changes

This is an early stage project. We may change, suspend, limit or discontinue any part of it, including the study board and any listing on it, at any time and without notice or liability. Nothing you store here should be treated as durable, and you should keep your own copy of anything you care about.

13. Access and payment

Everything is currently free, with no account. Screening is free permanently for patients and caregivers. If paid plans are introduced later, the terms of any purchase will be presented before payment is taken, and nothing will ever be charged per patient screened.

14. Governing law

These terms are governed by the laws of the State of Illinois, United States, without regard to its conflict of law rules, and the state and federal courts located in Illinois will have exclusive jurisdiction. If any provision is held unenforceable, the rest remains in force.
